Outing myself as uncultured, I have never read Dickens (I’ve only seen the 1960’s Oliver Twist movie musical) so I had no idea what the story was about. And oh boy was this depressing. I loved it. I’m surprised at the stacked cast (Martin Freeman is in this??), it really makes the film, wonderful performances all around.
