Season 1 is decent. Season 2 not so much

Well, I was charmed by it.

Douchebag got a job at CIA. Douchebag keeps messing up. But hey everybody loves douchebag so we’ll help him out no matter what he does. Rest of the characters are more or less cliche.. story did have potential without these characters

As the premise is similar and by the same creator, I will compare The Recruit to The Rookie. The latter has charm, while the former - doesn't. The Rookie has a lot of procedures, police knowledge and overall realism, The Recruit is absurd and childish. The characters in the cop show are interesting and layered, in the CIA one - obnoxious and irritating.

Starts out intriguing, then slowly turns into romcom drama. Do yourself a favour and skip the S1E4 wokefest that introduces a strong BIWOC girlboss "badass" (actual quote), unnecessarily turns a character gay, and has a CIA lawyer deliver a lecture about misogyny. It gets better after that.
