The Testaments

The show starts strong, but the flaws soon become glaring. The absurdity of a brutal religious society choosing women of other races as wives for its leaders. The cheap, forced melodrama. The sense of danger and tension completely vanishes as the show drags on. This strays so far from the book that instead of a tense story about losing one's identity to a totalitarian state, we get a sanitized, preachy fantasy. No thanks. Read Margaret Atwood's novel instead, the story will make much more sense.
