Lavish production design and a cast that is never less than solid. A great story, but suffers from characters showing up, then disappearing without a proper exit. The biggest problem is that Henry is just too hard to like as a main character. Especially in the last episodes, when his charm peels off and his madness start to shine through, he feels more like a villain in a horror movie, than the centre of a historical drama.

It’s well made enough, but the severe lack of likeable people/characters makes it hard to sit through at times. It’s also not accurate enough to see as a history lesson. Season 3 is interesting and entertaining enough however. S1: 40| S2: 40| S3: 60| S4: 45| Overall: 46 rounded down to 45.
