To say this series was disturbing would be the same as saying that Krakatoa made a "small popping sound" when it erupted. This series is scarring and horrifying on a multitude of levels. It is just as heart-breaking as it is frikking terrifying. And the saddest part is, no supernatural, all-powerful twisted evil could ever even hope to surpass what an ordinary human being is capable of in vileness.

Makes A Serbian Film seem like wholesome family entertainment. Depraved and degenerate propaganda designed to crush the psyche and demoralize Americans. Boring as fuck after episode 5. First episode had a creepy scene but they ran out of ideas after episode 1.

A horror series built on the history of discrimination against African-Americans. Season 1 is mediocre. Its horror elements are uninspired and its political subtext couldn't be any less subtle (granted, racism isn't subtle either). Its only redeeming features are Ashley Thomas's charisma and Alison Pill's glacial hatred. Season 2 is better: it a bit more subtle, the story is more complex and better written and it has some truly terrifying moments. But its first half is much too slow.

Season one was phenomenal! Great acting, great cast, great atmosphere just mwah chefs kiss! The second season started super strong but sort of fell apart for me in the end. Cool to see Pam Grier though!
