Ooops

A semi-folk horror film in which the folklore is of little interest and which, above all, lacks coherence. It’s not exactly a scare-fest, either. The lead actress, Tatiana Maslany, does her best with a lackluster script, but the male lead, Rossif Sutherland, seems disinterested. It’s not all flaws: a few double-exposure sequences are very beautiful, and the filmmakers deserve credit for their boldness in setting almost all the scary scenes in broad daylight. But that’s not nearly enough.
