Closely observed portrait of the Abacus Bank's effective scapegoating as the one "scalp" recovered during the GFC nevertheless dulls its impact trying to make the sentimental case against its prosecution (the dips into IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE are almost unforgivable missteps) - while Abacus was far from the worst offender, more interesting (and probing) questions should have been asked as to *why* this bank. Still compelling as a dissection of the ensuing criminal case and trial.

An affecting portrait of a family & community that reads as hopelessly biased in its portrayal.

"Incompetence combined with arrogance." Well, welcome to the U.S. Government. Well-done documentary that tells an important tale of government hypocrisy (this was the ONLY bank they decided to prosecute in the wake of such widespread malfeasance???).

Quite partial in its narration, but interesting nevertheless. Good depiction of a Chinese core family.
