The Poles knew slapstick too back in the day! Here a husband has to eliminate any evidence of female visitors as his wife unexpectedly returns from her trip. But trying to get rid of a corset proves a difficult task as he nearly does a complete tour of the city to lose it. Funny and full of life, much helped by a noisy brass sound track on the print I saw.

Antoni Fertner was a popular comedic actor with a prolific career on the stages of Warsaw spanning the first half of the 20th century. He also found time for a few dozen silents, followed by a string of big speaking roles in the 30s. Here, he stars in a cheerful comedy of the "drunken high society hi-jinks" variety.
