B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West-Berlin 1979-1989
Music, art and chaos in the wild West-Berlin of the 1980s. The walled-in city became the creative melting pot for sub- and pop-culture. Before the iron curtain fell, everything and anything seemed possible. B-MOVIE is a fast-paced collage of mostly unreleased film and TV footage from a frenzied but creative decade, starting with punk and ending with the Love Parade, in a city where the days are short and the nights are endless... There is something very very sad about this movie because whenever you can document something like that actually it means that it is over. Berlin of today still has something like that era but I think it was a unique time and space which I would like to have lived :(

An interesting look into West Berlin with cohesive use of the subject material from the final decade of the wall.

Amazing period for creative Berlin! Such a vibrant multi-art scene. Great to see all the old footage, clubs, street life.... the wall. Everything feels so authentic. We basically follow the story of British Mark Reeder's life in during this explosive era of 1979-1989. The party, the hangover, the electronic rebirth. While it's an exhilarating dive back in time, one can't help but feel it's only a peek through the door then a true visit inside this creative flow that was West-Germany's Berlin.
