Bleach

The Hollows looked good and Ichigo was well cast, the same could not be said for the rest o the characters. Also the movie was fairly dull even during the action scenes and I had to watch this movie twice as I kept nodding off during both viewings.

lol at this even existing. An inoffensive adaption but one that's substantially more boring than the show cutting out a lot of the charm and characters that at least made the show memorable. Instead we get unconvincing chemistry between the leads and cinematic attempts at "drama" that are pretty damn boring. The fights are really one note and brief, with most of the film trying to connect way too much of Bleach's first arc into one sitting but ending up really hollow (heh) as a result.

Better than it has any right to be. It’s got a few goofy moments that don’t work, but the cinematography and casting/costumes look surprisingly decent (except Byakuya, lol). Not bad, but still inferior to the anime, and newcomers might have trouble getting invested. Either way, it’s better than I expected, which is enough.

For an anime adaptation, it's pretty decent. It's much much better than Fullmetal Alchemist adaptation from previous year.
