This felt like a very personal story that was very poorly written. The premise here boils down to, "Wow, what an inconvenient time to have fallen in love with a street walking prostitute." The smaller moments not involving the prostitute, like Odenkirk on a dinner date, are well done and reach the emotional reality that I assume the rest of the script is aiming for. Watched for a draft we did on cinematographer Chung-hoon Chung. This was near the bottom.

I like Robin Williams, but I am sad that in his final year he was seen in a movie like Boulevard. I can relate to him wanting more then what he's got, and being attracted to something else. But the story moves really slow and nothing really happens. You keep waiting for a plot twist, but you only get disappointed. 26/100.

One of Robin Williams' last on screen performances. It was a yet another dramatic role that he pulled off beautifully.

Incredibly underrated film. Everything about this film is right. The closeup shots of mundane actions like unlocking a door or looking in a rear view mirror that make you feel you are that character at that moment - the pacing, the simple and haunting musical theme contrasted with the use of silence. The story itself though, about a married gay man's tortured existence and possible glimmer of hope, is by far the most emotional and exceptional. This was also one of Williams final performances
