Fascinating, engrossing documentary finds Amirani taking an almost Michael Moore like approach of making himself front and centre in the narrative; this makes the film far more engrossing and intriguing to a relative newbie to this subject, as we share in Amirani's quest and discovery of interviews on the subject. Second half settles down into a methodical telling of the convoluted events leading to the coup, with a wonderfully droll "performance" from Fiennes as one of the interview subjects.

A really absorbing documentary about the lengths brits and americans went to for oil, for the first time. Includes a massive coverup and a rundown of how this event changed history for the worse in all the ways. Really enjoyed Taghi Amirani putting himself in the middle of all this, because this is part of his history. Eff Churchill, eff all the colonial/ imperial attitudes of the Brits in this.

O grande problema aqui é que o filme perde tempo demais explicando porque o Darbyshire é interpretado pelo Ralph Fiennes quando uma rápida explicação daria conta do recado. No mais é uma visão justa dos acontecimentos, a história de um país que tem muito em comum com o Brasil e que todos os brasileiros deveriam ter ciência sobre. Festival É Tudo Verdade.
