Originally released in 1934 as Death at Broadcasting House, this musty British whodunit was distributed in the US in 1941 to cash in on the Hollywood-engendered popularity of its star, Ian Hunter. Set in a BBC radio studio, the story gets under way when a much-despised airwaves personality is murdered in the middle of a live broadcast. Scotland Yard inspector Gregory (Ian Hunter) shows up to piece together the clues and sift through the suspects. (allmovie.com)

The setup for the film and the murder was great but the story just dully plods along and feels much longer than it actually was.

Murder at the BBC! A guy is strangled live over the radio airwaves with millions of listeners tuning in. So it's 'Detective Inspector' Ian Hunter's job to find out who the murderer is. A simple but polished production for this slow moving mystery with added musical attractions to enhance the experience. Can't say the actual murder was all that exciting, but the elegance and attention to detail around the BBC sets gave it a special feel.
