Force of Execution

Unfortunately, there's just way too much plot getting in the way of the story in this modern Steven Seagal action B-movie. I don't watch a movie starring "the round mound of aikido" for the criminal underworld gangster intrigue, I watch it to see Steven Seagal lazily stand still while people throw themselves at him to take bumps. However, fortunately the supporting cast filling out the rest of the film surrounding the Bren Foster led action makes for a relatively watchable enough movie at least.

Bren Foster was pretty impressive here, Danny Trejo was poorly underused, and Ving Rhames was competing with Seagal to see who would put in the least amount of effort in the movie, not sure which one won.

The story is hollow, but it's probably the best movie Seagal has made in years.

A very round Seagal leaves most of the fighting to the (efficient) Bren Foster in a rather well-produced actioner (by late Steven Seagal standards) that goes on too long.
