Love at First Sight

They put a twist there. THE BEGINNING...

Haley Lu Richardson is the reason I give this a 70, even though it probably deserves a 60. It serves its purpose in a way that's somewhat interesting (it all takes place in a 24-hour period), but it's also quite corny and has a weird narrator deus ex machina thing going on. I know she's basically fate but it's still silly. But none of the criticisms really mattered because Richardson is SUCH a delight. I'm becoming a fan of hers.

Richardson & Hardy have decent enough chemistry for this RomCom to work, but the entire screenplay is beguiling dumb. Jamil is the narrator who pops up as generic service people to move the plot along, before pointing out how unlikely this all is with a doubtful statistic; Jamil is great, the schtick is not. Delany, Phillips and Fletcher are fun in their minor roles. Another Netflix production that question the validity of the writers' strike. At best cute, but mostly saccharine.

Felt very real for the most part which made it all the more annoying every time they brought in little miss fate as the narrator to ruin the mood.
