Mithunam

Sethumadhavan (Mohanlal), a struggling middle-class man, tries to start a biscuit factory - 'Dakshayani Biscuits', with his hopes constantly thwarted by corrupt government officials demanding bribes to approve his papers. Having a huge joint family to support, he doesn't confide about his troubles to anyone, including his wife Sulochana (Urvashi), who constantly accuses him of not giving her enough attention. Things continue to worsen till Sethumadhavan tells Sulochana that they should separate. (Summary by iceblox)
