If you're interested in Tarkovsky, this is a worthwhile watch. It provides a nice insight into his life circa Soviet exile, showing rare home footage and further documentation from Sokurov's narration. The only problem is that this doco is a bit too full of clips from the main man's movies (especially the one Tarkovsky acted in, which isn't even explained).

Master. Mentor. Life and Death. An obviously personal impressionistic 'documentary' that attempts to capture Tarkovsky's 'essence'. It's not entirely successful, mostly due to archive access issues and the repetitive use of footage from Tarkovsky's own films. Sections of it are also less insightful now than they would have been on release when there was less writing about him, but it effectively communicates a great sense of loss and the profound mark left by his work through subtle suggestion.
