The decadent parties, the interviews set in art galleries, the ridiculous out-of-context film scenes- This is a world that Haghighi knows like the back of his hand and portrays with a wonderfully acidic touch. The cast is generally top notch, with Majuni in the lead tying it all together. Unfortunately, Pig is marred by some really clunky social media satire that veers directly into "old man yells at cloud" territory. I loathe so.me. too, but dude... do some research.

Perhaps the humour in this "comedy" is lost in translation, but I wasn't particularly tickled by what I'm sure would be a good concept for a short film that has been stretched out to feature length. This tonally messy and lazy film switches between this goofball comedy and romantic melodrama and procedural crime thriller, but doesn't excel at all in any of these.
