A decent film despite the fact that it is a two hour long piece of liberal propaganda.

Spare Parts (2015) is your average new teacher being a positive influence on a bunch of troubled students. With no budget they enter underwater robot competition and the outcome is predictable. So unrealistic. Oh, wait. Based on a true story with footage of the real crew coming at the end. Actually that was the most touching part of the film, but the climax competition was alright too.

Underdog story dramatized to make a point. Loved the captions at the end telling what happened with the real students that it was all based on.

I'm sorry to say but Lopez's acting drags the movie down, he is the most unbelievable one in the bunch. The rest does really well and the ending is very inspiring. 56/100.

No matter what one's politics are on the subject, though, it definitely infuses Spare Parts with an unexpected level of real-world complexity that will demand lots of post-film reflection, research on the real-life realities and dinnertime conversation about justice.
