Stick to Your Guns

This is the 17th film in the Hopalong Cassidy series based on books by Clarence E. Melford. They are all hour long films that really play like episodic television. This one has a decent setup with Cassidy impersonating a famous outlaw, but it plods to an unremarkable conclusion involving endless riding scenes and unexciting shoot outs.

Russell Hayden left the Hopalong Cassidy family after 26 episodes and is replaced by a fresh guy to Hollywood. A man called Brad King. Handsome singing man, but looked very nervous in front of the camera. He didn't last the year. As for the rest of this film, Hoppy and the guys go undercover again to expose to rustlers. Fairly routine and more one that bubbled beneath the surface than delivering the exploding action.
