Susannah of the Mounties

One of the better Shirley Temple films, too much like Wee Willie Winkie. Shirley getting high was pretty funny.

Shirley Temple flirts with the west as squaw, but very glad she isn't a redskin. Another cute Temple release. What makes Susannah of the Mounties (1939) different is that it drops most of the musical stuff in favor of a more suspenseful story. Naturally Shirley is all adorable, and it doesn't get too scary, but become a sweet naive children's story about differences and keeping a levelheaded frame of mind.
