There are three different types of people in this movie, the slightly dysfunctional family, the ruthless gangsters, and the ends justify the means prosecutor. But it's the film's use of grandpa that makes the ending interesting.

Witnesses being forced to keep shut by by the mob. This one was rushed out on the market to capitalize on a recent case where no one dared to talk even if kids had been killed. And if kinda feel like it was rushed too. Not really a well told story. But thankfully there was some light spots with the patriotic grandpa Charles 'Chic' Sale! Lovely character. Walter Huston was his usual no bullshit self. The others were good too except most seemed to be very one dimensional.
