Shutter Island

Post by ayall »

Entertaining.

I think Scorsese showed his talent in this movie, and without trying for a spoiler, i really liked the ending.

The ending made me go back and rethink a lot of questions i had and holes i thought were there... the more i thought, the more i saw that the holes were accounted for and explained in the suttle detail.

I recommend catching this movie!

to each his own my friend.

i definitly wouldn't place shutter island next to Casino, Goodfellas, Gangs of New York or The Departed... but i thought relative to the alternatives being pumped out from hollywood, it was indeed entertaining.

Well, it's nice to see that Hollywood has lowered your standards so that something average is now seen as entertaining.

LOL, sad as it is, it's true.

i liked that article, though feel the author of it was expecting way to much from the movie.

With the oscars now showboating 10 movies, most of which wouldn't even get a glance during a decent oscar year, are you shocked that hollywood has lowered my standards?

I'm not shocked, just saddened that you allowed them to. And maybe the writer was right to expect a lot from a Scorsese movie - I know I did.

You ranked it higher than Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, etc.

Come on man, develop some taste :D

I enjoyed it and thought it was well made. Doesn't come close to Scorsese's best though.
