Bug Fixes for 26 Oct 2026

Published 26 Oct 2026

We've just released a new batch of bug fixes, responding to the problems users have been reporting. A lot of these focus on the new Filmmaker page views, which we introduced a couple weeks ago. Thanks to everyone for letting us know the issues with that page. I think we're getting there!

Bug Fixes

Sorting by Rating/PSI on the Filmmaker Page - We’ve made an adjustment to the database view of the Filmmaker’s Profile. Before, you had to choose between ordering by Rating or PTI. Choosing the former showed only the films you had rated.

This conflicted with other views (grid, list), because of the separation between rated and unrated films.

A great suggestion was made by a user, to combine the “Rating / PSI” sort (in the same way it is for the other views). This now results in the list of the filmmaker’s films sorted (1) first by Rating, then (2) by PSI, then (3) by title name (should no rating or PSI exist).

We think this does an excellent job of displaying the data in a way that’s extremely easy-to-understand. And because it keeps the possible sorts the same, it eases the transition between views. Thanks to drjoss for the idea!

Title Type is inconsistently ordered and named - It was pointed out that in the spots around Criticker where we list out the “Title Types” (such as in the filters, in the submission screen, or in the Fix Information modal), the options weren’t exactly uniform – slight differences in the names, and ordering. They should be better now!

Sort-by reset when filters applied - There was a problem that when you had selected to sort a filmmaker’s titles by “year”, that was not being persisted when additional filters were applied. It should be working now!

Top Contributors table missing - There was a mistake in the little box where we acknowledge the contributions of the users submitting titles to Criticker. That’s been fixed, and should be working now!

View problem in Samsung Internet - On some titles, the window was being pushed past its regular width. We’ve identified the reason for this, and corrected it!

Collections defaults to by name sorting - There were some problems with the pre-selected value for sorting on Collections. In certain instances, it was defaulting to "name" sorting. We've discovered and patched the reason this was misbehaving.

Some TV shows missing rating summary - We recently added a line with additional information to TV Mini-series, summarizing how many episodes and seasons exist, along with your average rating (if applicable). But because of a data issue, that wasn’t available on every TV series. We’ve figured out and patched the discrepancy, so things should be working properly now!

Filters missing from Film Lists - A mistake was causing the filters on the lists of titles to be hidden at specific tablet-like screen sizes. The filters now appear below the list of titles for these screen sizes.

Episode posters not being submitted - We recently changed the slug format for TV Episodes, but didn’t update the section for newly-submitted episodes. So if you were submitting a new TV Episode with its own image, you were seeing that image be overwritten with the poster from the series. We’ve patched that up, so it should be working now!
