New Layout for Rating More Titles and More Updates

We've just launched a new update to Criticker that has a few small enhancements! Check out the changes below!

Grid View for Rate More Titles

Wanting to make it easier for users to rate titles more quickly, we've introduced a new "grid" view on the Rate More Titles page. Rather than a full summary of every title displayed here, the poster is usually enough to identify a film you might have seen, or a game you might have played.

More titles per screen are shown, and this enhancement will hopefully get new users up and running on the site more quickly! You can always switch to the old view if you prefer that, and your preference will be remembered.

Move Add Favorite to main block

We've made it easier than ever to mark a filmmaker as one of your favorites, by moving that functionality from the side bar into the main filmmaker box.

This is especially important for anyone using the mobile version of the site, as the sidebar gets pushed to the bottom of the mobile screen -- which can involve quite a lot of scrolling when it's a filmmaker with a ton of credits!

New Info & Guides Page

We've started publishing a number of landing pages, designed to attract new users to Criticker, explain the site to those just starting, and answer questions that even long-term users might have. We've now collected these resources in a new "Info & Guides" page. This list will grow as our efforts to improve our documentation continue!

Inconsistencies in the list of Resources - It was pointed out that the verbiage used in the dropdown doesn't quite match up with that in the footer. "Feeds and exports", vs. "Feeds & Resources". That kind of thing just made the site feel a little less cohesive, so we've taken the opportunity to clean it up.

Scrolling to footer on popular titles - An issue was reported with reaching the footer on films that have many, many ratings. The problem is that the footer would scroll into view, only to bounce out of view again as more ratings were loaded. This is a tricky one, because we don't want to introduce pagination, and we don't want to hide the footer.

So, we've kinda fixed it, by addressing the most annoying part of the problem: that the footer would scroll in then pop out. Now, if more ratings are about to be loaded, we don't show the footer at all. But if we're at the end of the ratings list, we do.
