Dty Gulch Trading Post owner Kurt Fabian advances money on mortgages to the local settlers to finance an irrigation program. Three Texas Rangers, Tex Wyatt, Jim Steele and Panhandle Perkins transport the money in a strong box which they place in the Wells Fargo safe as agent Sam Benson assures them that he is the only one who knows the safe combination. Fabian conspires with Bill Gunner, Breed Crocker and Trigger Booth to steal the money and they fail, but Fabian gets it on his own.

Good samaritan Shemp rescues a girl from an accident, and a newspaper photographer snaps a picture of her thanking Shemp. The paper mixes up the caption, implying that Shemp and the girl are lovers. This doesn't sit well with Shemp's fiancee, who breaks off their engagement, leaving him so heartbroken he asks the rescued girl's gangster boyfriend to kill him. When Shemp's intended returns and apologizes, he realizes that his days are numbered unless he can find the gangster and call off

A mysterious outlaw known as Pegleg dreams of an empire in the vast, rich wilderness west of the Mississippi River. Army Lieurenant David Brent (Richard Fiske) is sent from Washington to persuade Kit Carson (Bill Elliott) to put an end to the reign of terror caused by Pegleg's gang called the Black Raiders. Carson agrees and, in the course of his assignment, he meets and is attracted to Caremelita Gonzales (Iris Meredith), the adopted daughter of a Spanish grandee, Don Jose Gonzales.

Bill Saunders arriving in a lawless town is quickly made Marshal. But when he arrests the gang members, the victims refuse to testify. However one rancher is willing to testify and when the gang kills him, Bill jails the killers. This causes the gang leader Rawhide to reveal the identity of the big boss and Bill goes after him.

After Brawley kills his boss Mort Saunders, he and his men take control of all the ranches in the valley. When Wild Bill arrives to help the ranchers he is thrown in jail by the crooked Sheriff.

When Sam Osborne, owner of the Circle S Ranch, is killed by cattle rustler Bo Gillman, the outlaw is advised by crooked attorney Virgil Parker to report the "mysterious" killing to Osborne's daughter, Helen. Steve Logan, a stranger, is jailed for the crime. He escapes and learns of Parker's scheme to steal the Circle S. Steve presents his Cattleman's Protective Association credentials to the sheriff and receives assurances of aid. Steve's former sweetheart,

Posing as wanted men, Chris and Waldorf get hired by Sanderson. He sends them to kill the Sheriff but puts blanks in their guns. When they arrive someone else shoots the Sheriff and Chris is blamed and jailed. The Sheriff's brother then incites the mob to hang Chris.

To prevent a lynching, Ranger Tim lets two outlaws go saying he will get them later. This gets him kicked out of the Rangers and he goes across the border and joins Big George's gang who are running contraband. But the outlaw Jimmy overhears Tim tell his sister that the dismissal was a fake. Big George and his gang then go after Tim and trap him in a cabin.

American reporters Helen Warnet and Jed Howard meet on a boat to Shangai unaware that Japan had just invade China and enemy spies are everywhere.

The last entry in Columbia's series co-starring Bill Elliott and Tex Ritter (who departed for the corrals at Republic and Universal), and a remake of 1931's "The Avenger" with Buck Jones: Joaquin Murietta (Bill Elliott)is robbed of his property by Jeff Gorman (Dick Curtis) and town banker Gil Kirby (Robert Fiske) and seeks revenge by disguising himself as a masked bandit, known as The Grey Shadow,and begins to raid gold shipments intended for Gorman and Kirby.

Hugh's wife (Isabel Withers) is running for mayor on the platform of cleaning out the crooks at city hall, so the opponents send a pretty girl (Christine McIntyre) to Hugh's house to steal the evidence. Hugh, naturally, falls for her pitch and is about to turn over the papers when his wife arrives home.

This Columbia All-Star Comedy (production number 7426) finds Hugh Herbert as a bumbling real estate agent who gets involved in a compromising situation with Christine McIntyre.

Gus and Dick find themselves in trouble when they fall into possession of a necklace, not realizing it was left over from a jewel robbery, and also must hide a woman, who is actually part of the robbery, from their wives.

While in court after his wife has started a divorce action, Hugh begins to give the judge his side of the story.

Det. Norman Craig assumes the identity of a dead bank robber (killed in a police shoot out), Red Murray, so he can infiltrate the prison and find three other bank robbers that the police are looking for. Things are going fine until Craig's partner is found dead in his cell with a bullet hole in his head. The plot thickens as Craig now tries to find the robbers and the murderer of his partner.

A Canadian Mountie tracks and captures the murderers of a fur trapper, but is later overpowered, tied to a tree, and left in the woods to die. The Mountie's brother finds him just before he dies, and sets out to recapture the killers.

When Bob Patterson arrives to buy cattle he gets caught up in Kenney's plan to take over Halliday's ranch. Kenney's gang led by Slade are keeping all cattle buyers away so Halliday will be unable to pay off his note. When Slade robs Halliday, Bob has a plan that will use the stolen bills to trap Kenney.

The Rangers are after a large outlaw gang. Dart arrives early with the rest of the troop following disguised as a medicine show. Dart learns Lupton is behind the gold shipment robberies and gets proof from his safe. Dart then plans a gold shipment figuring Lupton's men will attack again and this time the Rangers will be ready.

Brad Buckner has just bought a ranch. Murdock keeps his rustled cattle on the ranch and sends his men to kill Buckner just as they did the previous owners. But Buckner and his men foil their attempts and decide to search the ranch. To throw Buckner off he kidnaps Buckner's girl friend and the Sheriff and makes plans to drive the cattle across the border.

U.S. Marshal Steve Lawlor (Charles Starrett) comes to the aid of cattle-rancher Madge Conway (Iris Meredith) after her father (Edward LeSaint) is murdered by a gang of cattle rustlers, and she tries to carry on with the help of her ranch-foreman, Bob (Bob Nolan), and her loyal ranch hands. Aided by his friend and fellow lawman, U.S. Marshal McLain, Lawlor, posing as an outlaw, suspects Matt Taylor and banker Frank Parker (Robert Fiske) of being behind the rustling and killing.

Kenyon has the newly arriving Ranger shot and his man Martin assume the Ranger's identity. Clay finds the Ranger before he dies and learns the truth. But when Clay confronts Martin, Martin convinces the townspeople he is a real Ranger and Clay is the murderer. Clay escapes and must now find a way to expose Martin as a fake.

Wade Patterson arrives to take over the ranch he bought. Carere is using the ranch to hold his rustled cattle and when Wade's brother finds the cattle, Carere kills him. The inquest puts Wade on the track of the killer and when Terry, the reluctant member of Carere's gang confesses, Wade sets out to get a confession from Carere.

Hero Jeff Strong (Starrett) comes to the rescue of a group of victimized ranchers. The villains are a gang of crooked gamblers, who demand a valuable dam as payment for a $50,000 debt. The ranchers hope to earn the money by getting their cattle to market on time, but head bad guy Cash Fenton (Kenneth MacDonald) and his flunkey Lobo (Dick Curtis) intend to prevent this.

Things get under way when US marshal Tom (Starrett) finds himself in the midst of a range war. The villains are a band of rustlers who play both sides of the confrontation against one another, the better to move in and claim all the livestock.

Outlaws Dale and Tucson quit Wolf's gang. Just as the two are about to rob the stage, Wolf and his gang beat them to it. Dale breaks it up saving the money and this gets him appointed Sheriff. But Wolf shows up and threatening to expose Dale, forces him to let his gang rob the express office.

Tom “Killer” Dane kills Jeff’s friend, who then pursues him. Jeff and Dane are look-alike half brothers, which allows Dane to make a raid dressed like Jeff. Jeff is arrested, but before Dane’s henchman can organize a lynch mob, Fuzzy breaks him out and Jeff heads after Dane again.
