Nevada is a 1927 movie based upon a Zane Grey novel and starring Gary Cooper, Thelma Todd, and William Powell. This lavish Western film was remade in 1944 as an early Robert Mitchum B-picture, the only time Cooper and Mitchum played the same role. This movie still survives in a complete copy, but the films appearance is not the best, do probably to poor preservation, it's possible to make out scenes, but not as well as other highly restored silent films.

Don Mallory is the younger brother of ace newsreel photographer Cliff Mallory, and is continually urging Cliff to let him become a cameraman rather than going to college. Cliff refuses. He is assigned to get some newsreel footage of heiress Betty Kelley, who has never been shot. That The Girl in the Case is not to be taken seriously is demonstrated in the scene wherein its dignified leading man Edmund Lowe dons a gaudy zoot suit. Lowe is cast as lawyer William Warner, who also happens to be an expert lock-picker. Both his legal and illegal talents are pressed into service when Tommy Rockwood (Robert Scott) hires Warner to open an old chest. This particular prop turns out to be a veritable Pandora's Box, unleashing an onslaught of intrigue, espionage, and murder. (allmovie.com)

Pine-Thomas Productions' High Powered is the mixture as before, a two-fisted adventure tale with a melodramatic "tortured hero" subtext. High-rigger Tim Scott (Robert Lowery) can't get over the fact that his brother died in an on-the-job wiring mishap. Nor does Rod Farrell (Roger Pryor), who holds Tim responsible for the fatal accident, intend to let him get over it. When Denton is ambushed and killed in an attempt to get a gold shipment through to the next town, Steve signs on himself and his sidekick, Clem Clemmons (Fuzzy Knight), as driver and guard for the stage line.

Jerry McGuire (William Collier Jr.) is a dress designer in love with shop-girl Hilda Jenson (Shirley Mason). But the problem is that prizefighter Spike Mullins (Johnny Walker) is also in love with Hilda. Jerry, undaunted by the obvious fact that , physically speaking, is no match for the bull-like Spike. Jerry Takes a few boxing lessons and, aided by Hilda, who deliberately overfeeds Spike before the big fight between the two rivals.
