Sheela

As a young adult, Neil (Prithviraj) had an overbearing mother, Margaret (Sheela), who complained about Neil's carefree ways & worried about finding a groom for Neil's gimpy & introverted sister Rose (Geethu Mohandas). Neil had brought home a friend, Freddy Evans (Tom George), to be introduced to Rose, but learning that Freddy was already engaged, saddens Rose & over time, she became more withdrawn & loses her sanity. Later in life, as a successful but troubled writer, Neil reminisces all this.

As only the second horror film to be made in Pakistan - and the first to be granted an adults only X certificate - K H Sarfraz's Zinda Laash or The Living Corpse presents a fascinating take on the vampire myth and, in particular, Hammer films' 1958 Dracula (AKA Horror of Dracula).

Senthilnathan (Prabhu) and his wife, Ganga (Jyothika), move into a house once owned by evil King Vettaiyan, who had enslaved the beautiful Chandramukhi and then murdered her in a jealous rage. When bizarre events unfold, Ganga suddenly believes that she is Chandramukhi. Mamangalam Ponni (Sheela), the coveted girl of the land, has to wed a lowly woodcutter (Prem Nazir) who saved her life, to abide by the law that any virgin accepting clothing from a man, has to be his wife. Ponni makes a warrior out of the woodcutter in 101 days & names him Durgadasan, but now, Durgadasan can only see her as his guru. Meanwhile, her jilted suers - Thacholi Chandu (Ummer), Elavannoor Idumban (Jayan), Kaippali Paachan (Janardanan) & others were planning to get Ponni by any means.

Kochu Thresia (Sheela), a rich elderly widow with a lust for life, but alienated by her children caught in the rat race for making money, gets a companion in Reji (Jayaram), a poor but earthy young man with his own share of burdens including coping up with his drunkard father Chacko (Innocent) & his immature ways. Kochu Thresia's & Reji's unique relationship doesn't bode well with Kochu Thresia's children & their spouses who tries to break them up.

Young Raj (Kapil Jhaveri) and Kajal (Saloni Aswani) fall in love during a magical vacation to Cape Town. But when the couple returns to India, a mysterious man (Salman Khan) shocks them with several deadly predictions. Dismissive at first, the two are horrified when Kajal's father dies in the exact manner the stranger described. Kochu Kunju (Prithviraj), the black sheep of the affluent Vadakkan Vettil family, who made his fame & fortune in the Dubai underworld, returns to Kerala & acts goofy in front of his uncles & cousins by spending his days fistfighting & drinking. His ulterior aim - to get his father Daveed Lopes (Saikumar), whom years ago Kochu Kunju's uncles had plotted to kill, but escaped, back into the household & to end his mother Katrina's (Ambika) suffering.

Gopi (Prem Nazir), jilted by his lover Thulasi (Sheela), wanders around & finally seeks refuge at Janaki's (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) tea stall where Janaki's daughter Radha (Vidhubala) takes a fancy to Gopi. Gopi rebuffs Radha, advising her to pay heed to the pleas of Radha's neighbor Rajan (Ravi Kumar), who was on the verge of drinking himself to death after being spurned by Radha. Meanwhile, Thulasi tends to her terminally ill husband Dinesh (M.G. Soman), despite being unable to love him.

A regular tale, the story begins in the backdrop of a hospital when a Brahmin lady delivers a dead baby and the old woman in her family replaces the dead infant with another baby. That baby is delivered by another lady who actually gives birth to twins. Now, one boy grows up as Chari (ntr) with the Brahmin family while the other grows up as Narasimha (ntr again). After Balu (Jayaram) & Soorya (Sheela) fall in love & get married, but are unable to start a life because of Balu being broke, Soorya decides to try her luck as an actress in a new film, while Balu pretends to be her makeup man, to be close to her. However, ego issues & misunderstandings soon take over & they part ways. To get Soorya back, Balu returns as a makeup man again for a co-actress of Soorya's, but Soorya's director Siddarth (Siddique) has taken a fancy to her, complicating things.

Ajayan Menon (Mohanlal), having made his fortune in the Middle East, has settled down in his home village to be with his mother Ammukutty Amma (Sheela) & lead a peaceful life. Now middle-aged, Ajayan gets a kick out of boasting to his friends about a fictitious wanton life he had during his younger years. His worst nightmare comes true however, when a teenage boy (Rahul Pillai) shows up & claims to be his son & everyone believes the boy. Ajayan resorts to various ways to get rid of the boy.

Sexually frustrated living with a sick but wealthy husband (Ravi Menon), Soudamini (Sheela) falls for the macho horseman Chandrasekaran (Jayan) in a weak moment resulting in her husband dying without care. Soudamini marries Chandrasekaran but her daughter Baby grows up to hate her & turns into a rebel. Siddayyan (Nellikode Bhaskaran), the ex-caretaker of the family, takes pity on Soudamini & sends his son Prabhakaran (Sathar) to save the family, which doesn't bode well with Chandrasekaran.

Karuthamma (Sheela), the daughter of an ambitious Hindu fisherman, Chembankunju (Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair), was in love with a young Muslim fish trader, Pareekutty (Madhu). Chembankunju exploits Pareekutty's generosity to buy a new boat & net, but cheats Pareekutty by not returning the loan & marrying Karuthamma off to Palani (Sathyan), an orphan fisherman. However Karuthamma's past life continues to haunt her & Palani suspects her of still continuing an affair with Pareekutty.

As part of a deal between pals Rajagopalan Thampi (Nedumudi Venu) & Subrahmanyam (Bhagyaraj), Thampi's son Ashok Chakravarthy (Dileep) plots & marries Subrahmanyam's arrogant daughter Rajalakshmi (Sanusha), who was brought up by an equally arrogant & rich businesswoman Rajamallika (Khusboo), Subrahmanyam's estranged wife. After learning of Subrahmanyam's relation to Ashok, Rajamallika wages a war against Ashok to keep him away from Rajalakshmi. Ashok meanwhile, tries to set the family straight.

In the village of Mandaramkadavu, wannabe inventor Apoorvan (Jayaram) & his cohorts Chopra (Baburaj) & Babumon (Kalabhavan Shajohn) get into trouble when they lose Rs. 1 crore of the villagers' money in a scam claiming to provide solar energy to the village. Escaping from the village, they plot to kidnap a wealthy old lady Rosemary (Sheela) & demand a tidy sum as a ransom from her son. However, the tables are turned when they learn that Rosemary had planned the snatch all along & was using them.

A group of friends are brought forcefully to a village, where they are asked to help find the daughter of the Village head, who believes these friends have helped in the eloping of his daughter with her love interest. (imdb)
