"The CGI, art direction, and overall production values are all top notch. The apes speak too slowly to carry a film of this length, making me want to impatiently cry, "oh, just get the point!". The plot consisted of a series of cliche crises that failed to surprise or delight me, but barely held my interest. For me everything improved in the final 40 minutes of the film, which introduced the most interesting ideas of the story. Overall. lackluster screenwriting undermined this film's potential."
