This disaster of a movie has a script so transparent and irrational you can literally see the manchild who wrote it. Ayer must have felt so cool writing a Batman movie without Batman, turning LA into a pseudo Gotham that serves as the passive and isolated sandbox for his comic book villain, the melodramatic and annoying Alonzo. The movie's popularity proves one thing above all, the absent discernment of the general audience. Absolute vomit.

One of the worst piles of shit I ever had the displeasure of watching. Not even on x4-x8 speed does it produce any reason whatsoever to be watched. This is not the art of contemplative directing, this is the absence of having a fucking clue as a director, producing a work that never should have seen the light of day. One good thing about it, it exposes the aping pseuds for what they are the moment they praise this abortion.

A B-movie that performs firmly in C-movie territory: Acting that oscillates between autistic and amateur, dialogue with the quality of a rushed first-draft, a cast with a hard-capped IQ of 80, and a plot with more holes in it than the viciously boring and irrelevant monster. Honor and credit to the movie for its role in affecting the 'Among Us' tradition, but it did not contribute much of anything beyond that. They really wanted that Alien (1979) money.

A disaster concocted by a kosher CEO and a feminist writeress. Instead of the soul and depth we saw in the Little Mermaid, we got an amateur painting-by-numbers what he never understood, and a proto-Woke female protagonist who made a mockery of the art of drama.

Great moments, coherent plot, real stakes, appealing characters, lovely art, timeless music, and a universal theme. There's much to like in the Little Mermaid. Perhaps the best movie Disney had ever made when it came out.

The Sword in the Stone (1963) - Rated 05 Sep 2026

As a kid I watched this movie in wonder, projecting values and awe onto it that it did not possess. Aside from its unceasing anachronistic glorification of scientific materialism (a religion of its own) the story itself is entirely disconnected and unnecessary. It stumbles from one repeated episode of pseudo-Merlin getting pseudo-Arthur into trouble with animals, and then, suddenly, pseudo-Arthur pulls the sword out of the stone. This viewing has been very sobering. A disastrous movie.
