Nobody (2021) - Rated 08 May 2024

Dads being badass is often a humorous shtick that films will toss into a bunch of other jokes. It's a tired gag, so Derek Kolstad's screenplay extrapolates the action dad trope into an actual feature-length film about a dad protecting his family. Although, in reality, Nobody uses that as an excuse to go on a date with violence, allowing one last hurrah for the older guys that don't really have "it" anymore. Valley of White Birds (2017) - Rated 07 May 2024

Gorgeous on a technical scale and delicate with its delivery. A poetic flow to the sequence of events assists in personifying serenity with the character(s). A man confronts other versions of himself, possibly from his past and future. Valley of White Birds is undoubtedly left for interpretation in more ways than one, but it warrants a watch if only for its visual direction alone.
