90 66% Sherlock Holmes (2009) - Rated 27 Aug 2010
"This fast paced movie depicting the timeless story of Sherlock Holmes is wonderfully done. It is fun to watch and thought provoking to those in the audience trying to follow all the clues that Holmes finds. The dialouge between Holmes and Watson is hilarious and their relationship is strong even when in disagreement. It is worth seeing this version of the timeless story."
75 0% Remember Me (2010) - Rated 27 Aug 2010
"Robert Pattinson's acting was surprisingly amazing and completely different from his former roles. The two main characters both have complicated and difficult pasts that eventually attracts them to one another. However the beginning and ending were devestating and somewhat took away from the movie. Although the beginning and ending are not the most uplifting, the relationships that were formed were reassuring that love can prevail."
87 33% The Blind Side (2009) - Rated 27 Aug 2010
"This story that is based on the real life of a successful NFL player is a captivating and hopeful film. Sandra Bullock commands the film as she plays a generous mother who teaches morals of the importance of staying strong for those who you call family. This type of story has been told many times, but in this particular film one is left with hope and a refreshing sense of what a family unit can conquer together when determined."
85 16% Taken (2008) - Rated 27 Aug 2010
"This action movie is an exhilirating film that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The only downfall of this movie is the typical unrealistic violence that each action movie has where the hero always prevails. However, Liam Neeson utilizes his skills in order to find his daughter, who has been taken into a world of drugs and prostitution. His determined attitude and unconditional love for his daughter are somwhat uplifting through an otherwise depressing situation."
88 50% Freedom Writers (2007) - Rated 27 Aug 2010
"This film brought a new perspective on the way that high school education and it's system is viewed. The teacher ventures into a community that has given up on their youth, and realizes the harsh lives that each of the students face. She then understands the reality of the gang violence and is willing to do anything to ensure that the students have hope for a future by instilling knowledge in them and giving them a safe place to express themselves. Based on a true story, this film inspires hope."
93 83% WALL·E (2008) - Rated 27 Aug 2010
"Pixar's movie Wall-E was captivating, both visually and emotionally. Although some might disagree with the political stand made regarding the environmental issues our country faces today, I believe they provided the facts with a positive outlook on the situation. The relationship that evolves between Wall-E and Eve is touching. The timeless love story captures all audiences without the need for dialogue, but through social interaction which is also greatly valued in life. It's a must-see movie."
