"I feel obligated to give this a better score than its shallow story deserves because of the sheer imagination and artistic prowess on display here. Forget the formulaic narrative and dull protagonists; they're merely vehicles for the true stars: puppetry and set design. This movie is a visual feast, especially everything concerning the Skeksis, intricate nightmares given physical form. I couldn't take my eyes off any of them whenever they were on screen."
