Deserves praise not only for it's spot on foreshadowing of the severity of Goldie Hawn's downhill trajectory in the looks department, but it's also a damned fun dark comedy that holds up nearly thirty years later. It's hard for me to judge comedies as classic when I saw them when they came out, but I can without hesitation call this a classic. God, I'm getting old.

A truly wild film. I am always happy, and probably give a slight bump in rating, about films that are high-budget weird films like this.

A-budget all-star-cast zombie film. A total classic, even though nobody else thinks so

Isabella Rossellini tickles the fine line between a HARD PG13 and a soft R

A darkly humorous poke at modern society's vanity and narcissism and the impotence of human kinds ability to disrupt the inevitable limitations of mortality. Plus Meryl Streep gets hit with a shovel. Awesome.

The porno version of this would be called "Death Be-cums Her."

You can call it course objectification or merely an appreciation of femininity, but each year as Meryl Streep looks into the camera in acknowledgement of her Academy Award nomination I'm reminded of her chest becoming perkier after she takes the elixer in this. Not so much when she pulls her head back up out of her neck after she gets hit with the shovel, but I guess I think about that too.

You would think a movie that stars Bruce Willis, Meryl Streep, and Goldie Hawn would be so much better. It's really kind of embarrasing. Actually, I'd probably be more inclined to describe it as creepy and disturbing.

Worth to check atleast once. Pretty funny, and Willis is always great.

The script may meander a little. Overall, it doesn't feel like the film does much with its characters while at the same time asking you to buy into a pretty elaborate premise with zero setup. But its creative charm is through the roof. It's just one of those effects-heavy dark comedy staples of the 90s that everyone had a VHS copy of and they didn't know why.

Bizarre jet black comedy about people's obsessions with their youth and looks.

Aside from some high quality, yet subtly used visual effects, there's not much going for Death Becomes Her. It's a nag and gag fest with dialog that's not quite clever enough to make it worth seeing more than once. For the most part, the goofy and surprisingly unsettling plot, gets too far out of hand, and the gags become repetitive and weird. Crap!

Equal parts awful and hilarious. Bruce Willis in particular of the leading three delivers a very amusing, seemingly tongue-in-cheek performance. The two others are fine-ish, more notable for their characters' circumstances than personality. Whether or not you enjoy this will probably depend on your ability to accept and/or have a lot of fun laughing at the ridiculous concept.

Fun and quirky but instantly forgettable. One of those weird movies that everyone seems to vaguely remember but few have actually seen.

Quite a bit of fun and amusing in places, 'Death Becomes Her' is not bad at all. I like Bruce Willis' character in particular. Ultimately however this film does nothing outstanding or even new, and does little to linger in the memory.

What an insanely pleasant surprise! Back in the times when Hollywood still had an ASL longer than 0,00001 ms and back when a hole in the stomach would earn a movie the oscar for best special effects (or whatever). Great flick where it would've been a complete disaster had it not been for then insanely exagerated acting - and script. Gotta admit - I loved it.

Worth a look to see its stars elevate a story that's beneath their skill-level.

A reminder that good acting can come in threes (Streep, Willis, Hawn), along with a snappy and comical dialogue with a sobering tale of the folly of vanity running beneath. It's quite witty, the visual effects are used to good effect (and still make quite an impression) and if ever there was a compelling juxtaposition to be drawn between Frankenstein and affluent America here it is, alive, in all it's glory.

Old fashioned loony fun with very charismatic female leads, cheesy morality tale, charming effects and some nice physical comedy. Quite possibly Bruce Willis' best performance to date.
