Split (2017) - Rated 07 Oct 2026

Interesting alteration concept. McAvoy is really impressive. Taylor-Joy also shines. Just the right amount of thrill from Shyamalan.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game (1949) - Rated 06 Oct 2026

Liked the girls. But the story was thin, song and dance didn’t pair with sports, Black baseball ignored, and the joke ending had no payoff.

Before Sunset (2004) - Rated 05 Oct 2026

I liked that their lives weren’t on pause and had relationships and when Celine gets real in the van. But felt short and less spontaneous.

The Mask of Zorro (1998) - Rated 04 Oct 2026

Archetype adventure and solo hero movie. They reuse some elements but highly entertaining. Three leads ooze charisma. Mexican pride!

The Burnt Orange Heresy (2019) - Rated 01 Oct 2026

Sutherland and Debicki are quite good. But ultimately I yearn for a more tangled web and bigger payoff from the genre.

The Seed of the Sacred Fig (2024) - Rated 30 Sep 2026

Imagine selling morals and family for a raise and a little square footage. Way too long. Last thirty minutes were good. Kill him already.

Defiance (2008) - Rated 29 Sep 2026

Heck yeah. Awesome true story. Can’t imagine the difficulty and complexity of a wartime forest commune. Three guys and Davalos were great.

A Place in the Sun (1951) - Rated 28 Sep 2026

If you have premarital sex you will be sent to the chair. At the very least guilty of premeditation. Poor girl playing second fiddle.

21 Grams (2003) - Rated 23 Sep 2026

Such a grungy, grimy movie visually. And an absolute bummer of a world to hang out in. Complicated story but sheesh.
