Visually cool. Acted well. But some of the story beats come off as flawed or oddly contrived. There does feel like it has an ideological leaning to it but the way it all plays out somewhat undermines the themes it thinks it's touching. The convoluted natural of the ending also raises more issues than it fixes. It's like they wanted a feel good ending that ties up lose ends but good luck with a JJ Abrams mystery box production.

This movie didn't impress me that much. I'm a fan of Ryan Gosling and he isn't bad in this movie. The story concept isn't bad either. It's slow in parts. But all in all, it feels like a story that would really resonate best with dog lovers. If you are one, I think you'll love it. If not, it's fun and got heart but it's not as amazing as some hype it up to be.

It's a Jason Statham movie. If you came into it not expecting it to be that, you've been living under a rock. If you came into that expecting that, it's pretty much standard fair. Action hero combat scenes. Random female weaved into the story. Plot that is competent enough to built a Statham movie around. Not his best role but definitely not his worse.

It's Looney Tunes/Toons so you want to love it going in. It was something different and fun in spots. It probably won't blow you away. But it's fun at times too. All in all, it wasn't bad, albeit somewhat forgettable.

The Fix (2026) - Rated 23 Sep 2026

A bit of a mixture of military drama & merc/spy thriller, this one is all about slow burn suspense. The cast is great. Everyone brings exactly what you'd expect out of their characters and they are arguably the best part. Random nudity aside, the plot mostly feels fairly grounded up until the final act. The movie was good enough as it was and already had fulfilled it's runtime so the final twists and turns felt a bit more trope-y and unnecessary, even if they set them up. All in all, not bad.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) - Rated 06 Aug 2026

After a poor first movie, Captain America has bounced back in a big way and Winter Soldier doesn't disappoint. Bucky also plays a major role in making this movie what it is. The Russo brothers find the right balance of humor, action, and serious tension as they deliver with a solid Marvel gem.

A great movie with two strong leads that lives up to the hype and even adds some new adventures to the mix, Civil War has it all! In many ways, it feels more like Avengers: Civil War with a "Captain America" slapped over top of the title to placate their contractual obligations. Whatever the case may be, Captain America does feature heavily but its the ensemble cast that makes this such a fun ride.

It actually isn't that bad. Gets silly or preachy at points but some of the new characters shine. If anything, the disrespect to Taskmaster will rub people the wrong way and it was completely unnecessary. The disrespect for legacy characters continues to be Disney's Achilles heel as their slide of quality films continues.

Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025) - Rated 06 Aug 2026

A movie that probably should have been a write-off, Rebirth was as deformed a movie as the main "monster" of the story. Scar Jo is the only real upside of this movie and she isn't given much to work with. It also pretty much redoes the setup of the previous films with little more than a handwave. The inclusion of a family into the mix makes things that much more preposterous and forced. In the end, it's dinosaurs. But don't expect much else from it.

Oppenheimer (2023) - Rated 06 Aug 2026

Well acted for the most part, some odd scene choices at point, brief but absolutely unnecessary nudity to ensure the R rating perhaps (?), but otherwise this is very much a Nolan film. You can expect the classic Nolan tropes and storytelling presentation. It's not as dramatic or epic in scale as some of his other outings but it's also not designed to be.
