Lanterns (2026) - Rated 11 Oct 2026
“Lanterns” is an intriguing mix of crime drama and sci-fi, occasionally feeling like “True Detective” set in the DC universe. Its biggest strength is the chemistry between Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre, along with its grounded take on superheroes. Unfortunately, the slow pacing, excessive dialogue, and limited action can become tedious. It’s a refreshing experiment with its own identity, but it doesn’t always live up to its potential.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe (2026) - Rated 29 Sep 2026
An interesting way to expand “The Big Bang Theory” universe. “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe” has a fun multiverse concept, plenty of great cameos, and a clever intro. Unfortunately, some of the visual effects look rather cheap, while the meta-narrative is much less ambitious than the premise suggests. After a while, the alternate realities and jokes start to feel repetitive. A fun experiment, but one that doesn’t fully use its potential.

Unabomber (2026) - Rated 28 Sep 2026
“Unabomber” had the potential to be a great true-crime thriller, but ultimately feels underwhelming. The biggest strength is the cast, with Jacob Tremblay and Russell Crowe standing out in a rather formulaic script. The jumps between Kaczynski’s youth and the later FBI investigation don’t always work, while his psychological portrait remains too superficial. An intriguing story with some strong moments, but it could have been much better.
