Lanterns

Yet another adaptation for "modern audiences" that's dismissive if not openly hostile towards its source material. After the Watchmen show, Damon Lindelof here continues his fetishistic obsession with race, up to and including rewriting the Green Lantern oath to make it more "hood". John Stewart is a villain by the end of the first season and no one can convince me otherwise. Maybe we were too hard on the 2011 movie - at least it had a sense of humor and a basic understanding of morality.

If this weren't a Green Lanterns show, it would probably be much better. The whole mystery-and-crime-drama feel isn't exactly what fans associate with Lanterns. Still, it manages to handle what it is quite well, with most of the mystery portions of the show keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. There's barely any action, but the relationship between John Stewart and Hal Jordan makes up for that and then some. Overall, it's pretty good, just left a lot on the table.

Not my hal jordan but good tv show

Not too into these superhero shows anymore tbh

Writing was good, acting was good. Story was abhorrent.

Final bu kadar tırt olmasa yeşil verirdim

This is just such an odd thing to exist. In isolation I really quite liked a lot of it. Nicely cast, some good performances and half a season of excellent plotting. It does kind of all unravel though. As the story starts to fall flat and the promise of finale spectacle is never realised, it becomes very apparent how detached from the comics it is and how budget, or whatever, seriously limits its potential. Ultimately Lanterns drops the ball, but I still found myself somewhat charmed by it.

S1: 85

Watched the first episode. It was bad.
