93 80% Spirited Away (2001) - Rated 29 Aug 2009
"Totally deserving of its oscar. This film has a really simple, yet moving plotline that sucks the viewer in from the beginning. Even if you aren't a big fan of animation, this film forces you to go outside your usual box. The artwork is stunning, allowing the viewer to see another world within the everyday reality. Overall, Miyazaki out did himself with this, and I recommend it to people of all ages."
87 60% Fired Up (2009) - Rated 29 Aug 2009
"While theirs a large amount of fluff, their is even more brilliant moments of wit and a wonderful chemistry between the two male leads. They have the "best freinds who are practically the same person" shtick down to the letter. Even with the overflowing sexual innuendos, this movie was never too raunchy. It was a reasonable balance of grit and humor that gave humor the leg up. I would sugest this to anyone who really wanted to laugh at every aspect of life, no mattter what the joke's about."
40 0% Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) - Rated 27 Aug 2009
""What's happening?" Thats what went through my mind for over 90% of this movie. Btwn film 1 and 2, their was an epic increase in vulgarity (hello?? Their are tons of KIDS who watch this!) and a decrease in plot. Hell, the last 45 min are pretty much running and bombs!! As for the special effects...they were way too much! With all the robot v. robot going on, i couldnt tell who was winning 80% of the time. Lastly, Shia did great w/ the 30 min of acting he was given. Sadly, this series has fallen."
40 0% The Village (2004) - Rated 27 Aug 2009
"For me, this film would have been amazing if the last 30 minutes were changed completely. Due to that measely 1/2 hour, the film ended on a miserable note and left me feeling angry. However, their are some very good points. The suspense was electrifying, and the viewer NEVER saw the plot twist. It's a movie that really challenges the viewer to pay attention. I also applaud the principles. They were phenomenal in their execution. Even so, the end practically obliterated everything else."
79 40% Queen of the Damned (2002) - Rated 27 Aug 2009
"While I absolutely love the effects and the style of filming, this movie has just a little too much cheese. I don't feel that this should be characterized as a horror. Sci-fi, sure. Fantasy- ok. But their is nothing truly "scary" to be seen. On the flip side, the effects are just enough to add a little intrigue without being overbearing or farfetched. Their is also a clear dual story line that doesn't seem too ridiculous to be interceding."
