Review: It's difficult to pin the tone of this film. It's at turns bizarre, strangely funny, and heavy-handed. The style functions well for the impossible premise of the film, and at times the contrasting moments of near Wes Anderson campiness with weighty (forced) emotion is fantastic. Other times, it just comes across as confused. The film acts as though it's making a huge statement, but the message gets lost in the pacing and lack of character development.
