Kingdom of Heaven

Ridley 16 Director’s Roadshow Cut. Watched over the course of countless sittings. Ready for this disc to go back in its case and finally diversify my 4K players’ containment.  I loved this Crusade story that gives off some blend between Assassin's Creed, Gangs of New York, and Game of Thrones. Bloom lacks severe amounts of charisma to be the lead but Balian is also just kind of a bland audience surrogate in many ways anyway. Doesn’t cause me to dock it any points though. Some of Scott’s most memorable action set pieces and a story that really hasn’t lost any of its value.  People fighting in the name of God when really all they’re interested in wealth and land. Does a character verbalize that statement exactly? Yes. But sometimes wearing your cornball sleeve will make your point all the more salient.
