Twisty action thriller covers what amounts to familiar ground at this point; with overt echoes of Shyamalan and MEMENTO-era Nolan, this is derivative but enjoyable enough, with Rodriguez unusually staid behind the camera – if he could have let himself cut loose a bit rather than being fixated on making a Real Sophisticated Thriller, the film overall may have been more successful.
