I'm sorry this did not click with me at all. Hated the messy tone, the weird dialogue, the acting and surprisingly a fair bit of the direction. Sure it had its moments but I just felt so drained after seeing this. Like every scene felt so disjointed and weird. I l have loved Sam Raimi's style in the past but it just doesn't work with these characters. They haven't changed enough for the film to feel this way. Thor Ragnarok incorporated watiti's style as a director by subverting a lot of what we had seen from Thor up to that point and the characters felt like they had a fresh new paint. In this film, they're just the same if not more quippy whilst horrific violent acts happen occasionally (don't get me wrong the violence was a highlight for me it just felt really out of place). Im aware this is most likely not Raimi's fault and instead a Marvel studios choice but it still pushes his stylisation and creativity as a director into a messy pigeon-hole. Messy pigeon-hole sounds gross sorry. Not a fan. Big fan of pizza papa though.
