Mickey 17
Following the massive success of Parasite was never going to be easy, but Bong Joon Ho delivers another creative and entertaining science-fiction story. While Mickey 17 doesn't reach the heights of Parasite, it's probably the strongest film I've seen from him outside of that masterpiece and stands very well on its own.
Robert Pattinson is the film's greatest asset. He plays the strange, quirky Mickey Barnes perfectly, creating a character who is both amusing and surprisingly easy to root for. The concept is original, the world-building is interesting, and Bong once again blends humor, social commentary, and science fiction in a way few filmmakers can.
Not every idea lands, but the film is consistently engaging and refreshingly different from most modern studio releases. Mickey 17 is weird, ambitious, and a lot of fun.
