The Witch
A family is evicted from a village for unknown reasons. They end up alone in a field close to a forest and setup their new home. Their baby is snatched by a witch and turned into a witch brew to serve as an ointment to make her broom fly and to be young again. Another son of said family is seduced by the now younger witch and through a slow process killed after he returned to his family.
With all this happening the family increasingly becomes tensed and the problems are only stacking up. It's not only the witch which causes this. In fact, she has a minor role in this. Clearly this family has issues of their own to resolve.
The strength of this movie lies in the details, which would be easily missed if one expects a horror witch movie. It's not. Again, the witch is just a vessel to drive the events within the family. This is a slowly developing story towards the climax. That's the keyword here, slow.
Our protagonist, a stunning young lady, asked for help, but nobody was there to be heard. And so the ending makes sense to me. Somebody heard her after all.
The technical implementation is fine, though I heard some complaints about the music or sound. My only complaint is the sound at the very end where the witches were chanting; The sound was too post-processed, making it sound as if the microphone was too close to them.
My main complaint, to conclude, is that it was a too slow of a family drama which had a few witches in it to keep your attention. I gave it a 4/10 because it needs two more notches to make it into anything but a slow paced drama. It's intelligent drama, that I'll admit.

It's intelligent drama, that I'll admit. This is not primarily a "witch" movie if you're looking for that. The witch has a small role in the bigger picture here. This is a slow drama movie with a mystical element. If you're in the mood for that, this will wor
