Muppets Haunted Mansion
My 2021st logged film on Letterboxd
Probably the best of Kirk R. Thatcher's Muppet directing, but that man has directed the two worst Muppet films so the bar is low.
Pepe the Prawn might be my least favourite of the Muppets, he can be very entertaining in small bursts but he just does not work in a leading role. It's clear they're trying to replace Rizzo as Gonzo's right hand bestie, but it just does not work. Rizzo the rat he is not.
The Muppets also work best when they're all there, this 'special' is once again just Pepe and Gonzo, Darren Criss has a bigger cameo in this than pretty much any singular Muppet does.
The spooky puppets are cool, as are the sets, but its not very funny, or fun. (the screaming goat? this is 2021 not 2011)
