Need Eywa in my life asap! Jim's biggest film yet? Idk, but when you think he can't explode the scale of this franchise anymore, he does just that: maximalist, populist filmmaking at its best in a damned world where they barely exist outside (mostly) worn-out IP. Can't even tell which one is my favorite. A sumptuous, thunderous epic with so much to grasp -- from the tulkun talk to the 90-plus minute climax wtf? -- and also kinda the emotional core of this beautifully gigantic saga. Military-industrial complex expanding its claws in insidious ways -- by seducing and recruiting the ash people -- to finally exploit Pandora before finally destroying it and each one of its beings, because late capitalism just can't stop at nothing, but they won't win -- at least in Jim's cinema 💙
