It's Alive
Truly both endearing and chilling -- last line might be the creepiest ever -- creature horror film that is just economical filmmaking at its best, as there is no time for expository bullshit and it goes straight to the point, creating an effortlessly paranoid atmosphere and spamming tons of conspiracy theories -- dad's bad genes? something in the air? some new roach killer? all those pills mom took over the years? --, but gladly explaining none of them -- might be the sum of all, the sick society we live in. Alongside obvious brilliant works by Baker and Herrmann, also such a lowkey gripping family-falling-apart drama led by Ryan's moving performance.
Mini Review: Truly both endearing and chilling -- last line might be the creepiest ever -- creature horror film that is just economical filmmaking at its best, as it's just no bullshit and it goes straight go the point, creating an effortlessly paranoid atmosphere and delivering tons of conspiracy theories -- bad genes? something in the air? some new roach killer? all those pills mom took over the years? -- but gladly explaining none of them -- might be the sum of all, the sick society we live in.
