Rango

Hard to believe that this is a Nickelodeon movie. The aesthetic style of the characters is certainly a bold choice. But they do look good for what it was going for. The humor wasn't bad, being dependent on its charm and personality. It knew when to take itself seriously most of the time and the serious moments work well enough while being accompanied by appropriate imagery that replicates a visually pleasing atmosphere during those scenes. Rattlesnake Jake was a really good antagonist; The intimidation factor was up there. The soundtrack wasn't bad, but it did leave a bit to be desired.
Overall, this was a good movie. It didn't impress me all that much in any singular department, but it did keep me engaged the whole way and I didn't feel like this was wasting my time at any point.
