Only got interesting at the end - and then did not end at all

After quite an engaging, fast-moving opening episode you're left thinking where this could possibly go in its remaining three-quarters. And I reckon the writers are still wondering as much as I type. We can all imagine the horror of having a child go missing; we don't need a poor man's wannabe-Broadchurch, with piss-poor script and dodgy acting, dedicated to ramming it all home. A four-hour whodunnit without revealing whodunnit, or even what happened, is wasted time in anyone's book.
